One of the few apps to be given the full five stars over at Smart Apps For Kids, this is how Eleanor bottom lined it: "An addictive platform game with a fabulous twist — type in a description and lo, your enormous purple flying pegasus (or whatever you typed) appears to save the day. Great for practicing problem solving with kids. Try it — you won’t emerge for days. You definitely need to download this app, and for less than a dollar, you really cannot go wrong!

I was fortunate enough to discover this app (actually my kids discovererd it) early on when we got our first Nintendo DS. I am so happy that it is now available for Android tablets. This truly is a Smart App because children need to not only use problem solving skills to complete levels, but also spell correctly, and for advanced levels, use a broader vocabulary (words from previous attempts at same level cannot be used). Players just need to remember that it is American spelling, so words like tyre need to be spelled tire.
Each level of Scribblenauts Remix must be achieved by completing quests, such as "Create an extinction event". This is done by creating the set number of items needed to complete the level. There is usually more than one way to complete the task at hand, and the number of valid created items is seemingly limitless. The available vocabulary is extensive and you will be surprised to discover what words are in this app! Scribblenauts Remix is suitable for all ages, especially from 7+ years and is a fantastic app for developing collaboration skills. You do not want to pass this one up.
